Belated congratulations from me to all the team at the Healthy Living Centre who secured significant funding for the Community Food Worker Project back in the autumn. It’s now all systems go as they start to implement the project. The funding will be used to improve the diet and nutrition of hundreds of people in Ellesmere Port. I guess deep down most of us know there is truth in the saying “You are what you eat”.

Christians believe that we are also more than physical beings, we each have a Spirit intended to live in good relationship to God and with one another. Jesus said “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry”.

Fast food is tempting, enjoyable on the odd occasion but is not good for us on a daily basis. Spiritually today’s fast food involves greed and a concentration on self. In offering the bread of life Jesus offers food that lasts, he gives us the food we need not what we want. That’s Good News!

Good News, Good Food, what could be better!
